what would be the symptoms of a bad coil and a bad solenoid. the engine remains on for a couple of seconds. it all started ever since the car stopped running for a year. i used a spare coil (a) to see if the one in the car (b) was bad and the engine stayed on i turned off the car and used the one on the car(b) started the engine it didn't turn off. (good) next morning i turn on my car and it stayed running for a couple of second back to the same problem.

is the gas in the tank a year old? old gas can make a car not want to run well... also the contacts in the ignition switch could be worn out.... my mustang was having a similar problem, if held pressure on the key it'd run second i let go it'd shut off just use some wire with aligator clips and run from your battery to your coil positive terminal, then jump the starter solenoid and see if she fires up and runs continuosly ... thats the under the hood method of stealing an old car
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
