do a full tuneup on it, timing belt included, unless you know for a fact that one has been done on your car(if you dont, its very likely yours will snap) and then get a OBD2 scanner and hook it up and check what code its throwing... make whatever repair is needed.... and you should be good... autozone will rent you a scanner for free, pepboys will run a diagnostic for you for $20, and most shops will do the same.....just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
