    Ok thanks. I will do it tomorrow. Then I can set the rod to the appropriate length. This should then hold the choke closed more when cold. Thanks Again for the info. Once I get the choke set tighter I will set the distance to 5/16" and see if that works. I think that should get everything working correctly.

    check the long choke rod going to the betterfly and see if adj. that(make it longer) want give you what you want, i belive that is where you get the pull off adj. at on that carb.

    Just curious--you said when you cracked the throttle a small stream of gas came out. Have you checked the float level. If it is set too low you will not get a full shot of fuel when you hit the throttle. Which in turn causes a stumble and hesitation. is th vacuum advance working. just a thought
