    bloody thing wont go!!

We are putting together a dirt circuit car using a LX Torana with a mid mounted holden 308 motor. The motor was brought running in a WB ute that was using gas. We are now back on petrol and having problems with it backfiring thorugh the carbi, when restarting.

So ypu had it on the bottle huh ?

Gas is dry , over a period of time it dries out the accelerator pump gromet that seals the chamber and pumps the fuel out through the accelerator pump squirters. What your getting now is when you mash the go peddle the throttle is opening and the enrichment fuel that the pump shot is meant to supply is not there. all you get is a pop a croak and deadsville, which is about 2 feet from where you mashed the throttle.

To fix replace the pump seals.

    Talking bloody thing went!!

After all that we just had 2 leads wrong, it goes to show that working on a motor at 2 o'clock in the morning and staying awake using beer is not a good idea. In the light of day it all makes sense!!!!!
