To get it to run w/ no Detonation... I've had to retard the timing WAY back! Everyone I've talked to talks about ESC in the distributor! I've only got 3 wires in the connector & ESC shows to have 4 wires. Is this an ESC HEI Distributor?

This really has me confused. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but... I had the Identical set up in a truck that was stolen & it ran wonderful! This motor is driving me nuts!

Any suggestions???

have you checked your mechanical adv. in the dist? it might be stuck open.
