Question Slant Six intake emission problems...

My brother-in-law has an 81 Dodge truck with a 225 slant Six and it has some kind of goofy electronic imission control on the air cleaner that isn't letting the motor run. Does anybody know how to by-pass that? Any ideas will be appreciated, Thanks.

They put slant 6s in the trucks? Huh, learn something new every day. Anyway, there may be another way around it. Being a 81, chances are that your truck doesnt have to be on the smog test. My advice would be to switch the carb to a manual setup and possibly swap the distributor if needed. As long as you still have the Air pump and the Cats, no one is going to look twice
