I didn't see it posted, but the #1 plug wire on most Chevy V8s is the one immediately to the left of the point adjustment window; although some people also use the one just to the right of that one. I don't think that most Chevy V8 distributor caps are marked as to the #1 position, but if yours is, then ignore me please.
