assuming i can get it to idle after adjusting the fuel pressure,(which i dont think it will be that easy, cuz its me, hha) what is a good idle for it?

around 600 to 700 rpm's in gear.
wow really that low? this 468 rumbles like a elephant on crack at 1000.... now for the idle adjust ment screws, do you use all four? cuz its got two screws on the primary, one left side one right side, and two on the sec. one left, one right, the only ones i screwed around with ar the two on the side with the throttle cable...
ohh also it does have mallory dist. and wires, ultra lite, havent opened it up yet..
says a mallory unilte, looked on the web, says is a trigger style electronic? the carb is a barry grant 750, i cant find any numbers, only one i found is A12401... ?
thats a greathelp but i cant find the serial number! the fuel pressure problem is like this, i found my fuel pump, its a 110gph holley electric 12-802-1.then the fuel line goes all the way to th hood compartment, then to a fra filter, then to a , what appears to be a holley "t" connection, with a large hex screw right in the middle( pressure reg?) then straight to the carb...is that how i adjust the fuel pressure? then i adjusted all the screws on the carb to get it to idle lower than 1300 and i problably oopened one too far and closed one toomuch... is there a sarting pointlike closing them all all the way or something? this damn thingwont idle low for nothing, i get it to about 1200 then it will stay, but its scuking to much gas that high..... so do you hink the t connector with the big hex on it right after the fuel filter is the pressure reg?
then i need some starting point on the carb, its problaby just needs rebuilt?
also got a 3500 stall 2...
i took some pics, just looking for my camara cable... then i will post thepics!
pressure reg?
fuel pump
that could possibly be it, i'm not positive on it though, i believe those 4 screws you are playing with are your mixture screws though, not the main idle adjustment, those are more for fine tuning per say.... the main idle adjustment, on most carbs, i dont specifically know your carb, is a screw that is generally under the throttle linkage, and will pull the linkage back when you tighten it, and let off on it when you loosen it, pretty basic eh? but first you're going to have to retune your mixture screws before setting that idle, on a standard application you ussually bottom the screws and then back them out about 1 1/2-2 3/4 turns... once you get that all set, you're going to need to drive it a little bit to tell if its running rich or lean.... if it smells a little gassy, then you've richened it too much.... pull a plug when you're done driving around and see if the tip of the plug looks like its been burning dry or if its getting over saturated, should look like its been getting just a little wet... again you should check float levels in your carb also to make sure its setup just right, you should be able to open up the sight holes and see the fuel level just a little bit below the hole
havent found this on the net yet!
wowthanks, i got a press gauge inside, is that doog enugh? just to get to like 6 psi? guess what i found the actual idle screw, i guess i was turning the mix screws, and i pulled the idle screw all the way out, and it still idled at like 1000... then i turned the mix screws around a bit and killed it.. so i should turn them all the way in, then take them all out about 2 turns?
i got a better pic but my camara has high res. and the pic is always to much resolution..i will do what i can...
