i had recentally put in some hooker headers in my 73 duster and after i have gotten everything back together, the alternator wont charge the battery, any suggestions would be great for what to check for , is the alternator junk or what should i do

sounds like to me youve left some wires loose somewhere, if the alt was charging when you started with the headers. go back over what you did and check everything . did you have to pull the motor ? you probably jacked the motor up and pulled some wires loose.
