My brother has a 352 with a broken lifter. His mechanic says the top and bottom end may need to come apart to be sure no pieces dropped. This isnt a daily driver and he is not wanting to spend big money on the labor right now with a complete tear down.

Would it be cheaper labor wise to swap a used engine in? If so what engines would mate up to the bell housing on his 66' F-100 C-6 tranny? I just thought it would be cheaper this way, am I wrong?
