    350 pontiac

I have a 350 pontiac engine in my 79 trans am that i perchased recently and the thing is really lacking power. The budget is about $2500. The options that i can up with were 350 create engine, get a 350 long block, rebuilt and improve the existing engine or get a 400 or 455 and rebuilt it. What i would like to do is get a chevy engine but it won't bolt up to my trannie. Dose anyone know if i can get an adaptor kit somewhere? Do i need a new tourqe converter and ect.? Also any suggestions on my options would help me make my mind up.

    Any help will be awsome.

if it were me Id keep it Pontiac powered. I realize Chevy engines are cheaper to hot rod, but its justso much cooler to see a pontiac in a pontiac.

Tranny adapters are available all over the net, Ebay, Jegs, SUMMIT, Speedway. etc.. No convertor or trans mods are needed other than the spacers in the kit... You can rebuild two 350 Chevies for the price of a 350 Pontiac..
