    A/c bracket & new manifold

My brother is putting a new edelbrock manifold on his Pontiac 389, we got it on and went to put one of the A/C brackets on and the holes are in the wrong place. So my question is, can I leave that bracket off? It doesn't look like it has to be there.

Where on a manifold are the AC bracket holes ?

Do you mean the heads ?

You can always drill and tap new holes in the front of the heads for aftermarket brackets.

In the case of some SBC heads using the Sanden 502 AC Compressors, a hole, or in some cases, 2 holes must be drilled and taped to mount the bracket.

sorry, I should have been more specific. It has a front and rear bracket on it, the front one is still connected but the back one which connected to two places on the manifold did not have the holes in the right place. It has been a while since I posted the question and the time since then we have benn running it without the back one with no problems.
