how old is the fuel? Probably backfiring because of rust and crud on intake valve. I'd change plugs get fresh gas put some oil in cylinders .....been sitting 40 years your lucky to get backfire.
It's been sitting 2 years, used new fuel.white smoke out the exhaust.Also new cap and rotor and points.Quote:
