small block chevy squeacks.
Squeaks at an idle, loud! It's not a belt or accessary. I adjusted the belts, checked alignment on the alt and ps pump. Finally I pulled the belts off and started it and still squeaks. Sounds like the front of the motor. Something not oiling/ Timing chain?

timing chain hitting the china covers can hit around the front seal can hit around the top of cover . timming chain can hit some block if a double row roller chain . the PCV valve can make any were from a buzzing sound to a dry bearing noise . the base plate of the carb could be loose and many other thing as well. bolts to long in the fly wheel /flex plate hitting the back of block . the damper rubbing on front tin or timming tab . mechanical fuel pump going south ? front pump bearing in trans or converter thurst washer . bendix drive on starter no coming all the way out of the fly wheelIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
