A supplier that serves independent airplane mechanics will have it for sure, and in different gauges, but I found it listed at O'Reilly's Auto Parts, a big chain store in the US - Russell 671580 - Safety Wire | O'Reilly Auto Parts I've seen both 0.032" and 0.040" commonly.Roger

Inconel is one of the best high temperature alloys. High end turbo manifolds and exhaust housings, some exhaust valves, and high temperature pressure vessels are made from it.
I'm not saying you need Inconel so ask the experts above about that. But if you want it and it's not available locally, you can get Inconel wire from McMaster Carr: McMaster-CarrNick

yep that.s why i use inconel wire it cheap and a next day from mcmaster-carr. most all blower .turbo .and Nos engine i like to use a inconel EX valves ...on the very big bores like 4.625 there not much room on the deck for the wire so thats is why i use it. maybe over kill but it works for me and i find it easer to work withLast edited by pat mccarthy; 06-24-2013 at 10:30 AM.

I've been checking in and figured the site had died forever. I checked today and bam it's back on. Awesome. I don't contribute much here, I just come to read and enjoy hotrod builds and good company...
