My 460, upon inspecting the mains, I found there all wiped to the bronze, but there not scored or spun and the crank appears unharmed. Rod bearings look better but still in need of replacement, only damage to the rod journals is there just very lightly scratched in 1 ring, that I can get a slight fingernail catch on.. What are the oem sizes for the rod and main journals? This engine may have been rebuilt. it for certin has an aftermarket timing chain, had a Melling M84BHV and a chrome oil pan.. I want to get this running good cheap if I can, but if I have to rebuild, I would like to gain compression, or a stroker kit if I could fit that in the budget. This is just a '75 Lincoln 460 with stock D3 heads..

I it was a rebuild, could it have been fired up with no assembly lube and no oil pump priming?
