I used Gasgacinch on the head side to ensure that the gasket stayed put, then blue silicone around all of the water ports on the head side. My system said to use sensor safe sealant or you risk problems with sensors for MAP, O2, etc. I would save the ultra black for oil applications - not sure ultra black is as good for water/antifreeze, but I know blue is. Just my approach...
