360 to 429
i have a 1976 ford highboy with the 360 block in it. i will be buying a 69 ltd with a 429 in it. within the next year or so i plan on putting in my high boy. some questions i have are, 1. can i keep the oil pan on the 429 from the car or do i have to use the 360's oil pan? 2. flywheel housings... i have a 4spd trans will the bell housing mount up from the 360 to the 429 (the car has a c6 in it) or do i need to take the bell housing off the c6? 3. flywheels the same for a 360/429? 4. motor mounts will they work from the 360 or can i use the ones from the car? 5. intake manifold bolt up straight acrossed? 6. 650cfm edelbrock carb on the 360 be big enough for the 429? thanks for your help guys
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
