i wouldn't see why not...... but at the same time.... a pump for your 235 is $25 that's like almost 6 gallons of gas..... which who knows your custom assembled pump might only last 6 gallons of gas because of the age of the diaphram..... diaphram failure would cause gas to leak into your oil and possibly cause severe damage to the engine which you might not even notice until its too late....
