long block done FINALLY!
got the long block back monday, thought id say something has about 12:8:1 compression, used head studs this time, .557 single profile cam on a 99 degree lobe center, <long story> other then that the rest of what was in there was salvageable, with the exceptions of the rings, bearings,& oil pump. pistons were fine as were the rods, put arp bolts in the rods had them re-con'd, clearance on the mains and rods is .003 thousandths, strip dominator intake is on the way, took and had the proform carb re-worked lots of crap was wrong with it that i didnt even know about thats all fixed. i was surprised it ran as good as it did when so much was wrong! the heads are awesome, 2.02 1.6 ferrea valves, hardened seats, new guides, postive seal's, 10* degree locks and retainters k motion valve springs good to .560 lift. really curious to see how it'll run this time around!
Dammit, another good ol boy gone. Condolence to the family. RIP Mike
