    Isn't that like the "mechanic" in the neighborhood garage near where I grew up that used to tighten Chevy 6's headbolts down 'til they squealed then gave them another half turn?? He never had a return for a leaky head gasket .

    I thought you tightened until you feel them stretch, then back them off 1/8 turn......

    I thought it was tighten them until they strip and back it off a 1/4..

    Well its fixed, it was the balancer, took it off today, and the outer ring had slipped forward about 1/4", got another one from an old motor, and no more wobbling, just thought i would update you guys on this, you guys were right.

    I had this same problem - I found the keyway on the crank sheared out

    Pretty certain it happened while doing a 120mph/high rpms and turning on the A/C - I wont try that again.
    Go ahead and tell me what you think, just don't expect me to change my mind.
