Just Ran the new figures

the Falcon now has $4,742 invested in it. it's coming togther tho. fuel pump is wired, head is on, rockers are on, exhaust manifold is waiting to go on, as is alternator. I have some turbo piping now. have to prime the oil, then adjust the rockers again.

oil is primed, distributor is in. fuel pump works, I had a little mess of fuel, forgot to unplug the relay b4 I turned the key on, fuel pump probably pumped a quart or so b4 I figured out it was pumping. started plumbing the hot ( Turbo inlet ) exhaust side. gonna be tight, it's going back by the starter, sideways, exhaust will exit out the fenderwell, then down around to the factory exhaust locations. IDK what I'm doing about the turbo inlet to the air filter, but I'll figure somthing out.

Seriously, how about a picture of what the area looks like from inlet to air filter (maybe an overhead view using a ladder??) and maybe one of the guys can come up with a quick solution for you.

IDK just means I don't Know. anyway, I found a soloution, a 180 u manderel bend cut in half will give me the 90* tight radius I need for clearence, add a cone filter to the end of it and bingo.

Another student helping me with the car yesterday, drove to boces and stayed an hour or so later than me, and finished the hot side exhaust piping. it's ready to get towed home, got a tow truck coming to pick it up for $40 flatbedded.

yes, it shure is a lot for the little engine, but it is a very strong engine, stronger than the average V8. 7 main caps, 2 bolt per cap, so it can handle the extra power. It was fun figuring out what to use, building it with matched parts. using parts designed for diffrent engines, like the 2.3 HSC flat top pistions, 302 valve springs, held in place with 302 2 peice retainers but using the stock 200 centers of the retainers, that fit perfect in the 302 retainers, and provide the correct size center, for the 5/16" valve stems. I did what I have always done, done somthing diffrent than the rest of the crowd, and now as I look back on it, I'm graduating from my auto class tonight, and that car was the main project of the year, it's been in the shop since november, it's partly the reason that I have 1 of the highest averages in the class. My teacher wants me to keep in touch with him, because he wants to still play a part, in the compleation of the car, and see how it runs.

sounds like you're gonna get that baby put together this weekend( i know i would push through if i was that close) cant wait to see some pictures under the hood when you finish..... i'm actually looking at putting turbos on my mustang now.... gonna run turbo piping thru the fenders up to dual intercoolers in the front and then up to the carb....(if i stay carb, i'm starting to think ITBs would be nice)
