The best way I have found to plug unused ports is with a wooden match stick and 2-part liquid epoxy. The plugs stand up well to engine heat, and never leak----But---if you find out later that you want to unplug the port (which does happen), then they are easy to drill out without damaging the parent metal casting on the carburetor.
