Head (ache)
HEY ALL,NEW HERE,COULD REALLY USE SOME ADVICE.BUILDING A 78 CHEVY 350.GOT A SET OF 49cc CHAMBER DART IRON EAGLE HEADS.USING THE SMALL COMBUSTION CHAMBER TO SQUEEZE MORE COMPRESSION OUTA THE ENGINE.THE PROBLEM IM HAVING IS WITH PUSH ROD GUIDE PLATES AND ALIGNMENT.DART SAYS TO USE A COMP CAMS PART,WHICH I DID.NO MATTER WHICH WAY THEY WERE PUT ON,THE HALF HEAD BOLT HOLE AND THE PUSHROD PATH WAS BLOCKED BY THE PLATE.EVEN WITH THE PLATES OFF A LOT OF THE PUSHROD PATHWAY DOWN THROUGH THE HEADS LOOK OFF.I CALLED DART,THEY SAID USE ISKY ADJUSTIBLE PRGUIDE PLATES.I DID.JUST ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM.THEY MIGHT WORK WITH A GOOD DEAL OF GRINDING TO REPOSITION THEM,BUT WONT THAT SCREW UP ALIGNMENT OF THE ROCKERS,OR CAUSE OTHER UNFORSEEN PROBLEMS? I DONT KNOW HOW FORGIVING VALVETRAIN COMPONENTS ARE TO BEING REPOSITIONED? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANKS,NICK
