    Gap 'em at 0.035", they'll re-gap themselves to 0.040" after a while....

I've run Autolites in all my Chevy's ......................

Neither AC or Champion seemed to last long in either of my SBC or BBC engines ................

if the fuel and air ratio is right in the motor it don't matter what plug you use, if the fuel and fuel mixture is off no plug will last. keep the car tuned and the plugs will take care of themselves. i used champion plugs for 25 yrs. in my shops, with no problem, not because they were any better than any other plug, but to keep the inv. down. lots of people don't want a ford plug in their chevy. or a ac in their ford. it was understood independent shops used champion, or if the costumer wanted something else, you would use what ever he wanted.

Don't most HEI installations call for a wider gap than .035?

dif. motors carried dif. settings in dif. yrs. the HEI used mostly, "6 cyl .035 and V8 .045," The first HEI Ign., HD, and CALIF. motors plugs used .060 gap, but by 1978 they had just about stopped setting them that wide.
