    Question BB Ford aluminum heads?

Ok everyone the 514 is getting closeto being put together$$$$ wise so one of my last ???? is the heads. I've got a decent pair now c9ve that need redone and ported, but before I do that Im wanting to know a few ??? about aluminum heads. Like do they need to be retorqued ever now and then? And running 10.5 compression will this be a major problem, for the reason im asking it wasnt with the old heads on the street, and last Ive heard the plug threads strip out real easy even with anti-sieze.
    Just my 2 pennies though

Probably, Aluminum is a really soft metal, I'm surprised to even hear there are aluminum heads.

Never had any trouble with aluminum heads on a big block, or a small block for that matter.

Aluminum heads run cooler than steel, but the thermal expansion corfficient is more than 2x steel. My Chevy 502 manual says to retorque the factory heads after the first 30 mile break in. If I were you I would plan on doing it. At the very least check a few each side that are of easier access to see if the torque has changed. Be sure she is cooled all the way down before checking torque!

It also came with ground washers to use under the bolt heads. These are critical to assure proper clamp loads are achieved with minimal distortion and damage to the head bolt spot face locations.

As long as you don't overheat the motor badly the heads will be fine. If you ever do over heat, allow the motor to cool down slowly and avoid dumping cold water into the rad and engine. This will usually cause the aluminum cylinder heads to warp badly. Will also destroy some cast heads by the way.

i've run plenty of sets of aluminum heads, never had any problems with them... well other than an intake bolt breaking off in one but thats not the heads fault... i reccomend getting them if you can afford them, they'll flow better, take a lil weight off and run a lil cooler
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
