The simplest thing could be a loose connection, usually the small "start" wire on the solenoid. Colder weather causing it to "click" could be some kind of oil or grease on the solenoid plunger, not letting it "kick". Usually this problem is a corroded brass contact disc in the solenoid, did you get a new one or rebuilt? Some rebuilders don't replace that disc.

Start at the battery, disconnect all of the cables and clean and grease the posts and terminals with anti-corrosion grease - a very light coat of grease will do. Move on to the ground connection at the block, and the terminals on the solenoid. Make sure all of the connections are clean, tight and greased to prevent corrosion, and that your battery is fully charged and in good condition. This is the most common cause of starting problems like you are describing.

hello .another thing that you can try (eventhough it's a new starter) is too have another person sit in the car and turn the key to the start possition, and get under the car and lightly tap on the starter to see if it will engauge, if it does recheck the starter. doesen't work all the time but may help you out.

ARE YOU ABLE TO TURN THE MOTOR OVER BUY HAND , WRENCH?? THATS ONE WAY TO TELL IF ITS FROZEN ON THE ROTATING PARTS ANY WAYS. JUST A FOOD FOR THOUGHT JUST IN CASE YOU DID GET IT STARTED AND YOU HEAR A BUNCH OF METAL SQUELING AND OR LIFTER TICKING THE OIL PUMP MAY HAVE GOME OUT. AS FOR THE NOT STARTING THING WHAT EVERY ONE ELSE HAS SUGGESTED WORKS BEST. THE THING THAT SUCKS WHEN THE MOTORS DONT START IT A PROSSES OF ELIMINATION. GOOD LUCK. SCS

it will do what your's is doing if the water pump is frozen up and the block is cracked with water on top of a piston. look in the rad. and see if you see any ice. if you dont, its not frozen up.
