    Cadillac 472 Help

I have a 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with a 472 Engine. Im trying to eliminate the Smog pump and the hoses/tubes that go with it. Taking the pump off is no problem, but my question is this... The smog pump pumps air into tubes that connect to the heads (one for each) Does anyone know if i can just take the tubes out and plug the head.. or do i need to swap the heads? Im not looking to make this a race engine.. just a solid daily driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's just a daily driver, then why do you have to remove the smog apparatus? LA has enough air quality problems as it is.

Not only that, you won't be able to get it passed for smog - if I remember correctly, '68 is not exempt.

In California, 1975 and newer need to be smogged. Everything before is exempt. So my 1968 has no problem meeting that critera.
