    Yep 53, you're right on the money. I guess it's all relative. A 112-114 center is gonna be dead smooth 'cause that's what 99.9% of new car buyers want. It's the other 0.1% of us knuckleheads that want a little sound with our cams. A cam ground on 110 will not be as dead smooth as a factory cam, but it won't be as raspy as a cam ground on 106 either. My buddy had his cam ground on 104 centers and it sounded reaaaaaallllly good. He kept the duration within limits for his 9:1 compression just like I did when I picked those 2 cams for Speed Freak. With about the same combination in a '59 Stude pickup and a ladder bar rear with pinion snubber, he went 11.84 at Firebird, so the cam worked pretty well. I sold him a set of Goodyear slicks and a 4.30 third member for his 9", so that didn't hurt his combo either
