The Chevy big block was first known as the "Mystery Engine." I was the Mark II. Junior Johnson took one around Daytona at 166 MPH. They were later called porcupine motors because of the (then) weird angles the valve stems stuck out of the heads. Of course, porcupines are just big rodents . . . or rats.Jack
