    Smoking Problem. 350 LT-1

    Hello All,
I have a 68 SS Camaro with a 350 LT-1 engine that has 4624 miles on it. 202 Heads, street dominator intake, 650 dual feed carb, gear drive.

I get a continuous smoking problem after a startup. All the plugs have oil on them. At first i thought it was the heads because they were shaved down too far, so i bought a brand new set of 202 heads and this problem still exists. Its losing oil but its not leaking anywhere, its just burning it and making it smoke.

If you need anymore info on my motor let me know. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do a leakdown test on the engine, checking to see if the rings are in good shape, also a bad pcv valve will do this. Make sure its working right. hope it helps, robert

i think grunch is right on the money, try pulling out your pcv valve first.... that should cause the carb to stop sucking oil thru the pcv.... if thats the case you're pulling too much vaccum thru the pcv hose, or you're sheild on your valve covers is missing.... if it still happens then its time to check your compression, and then also doa ring test.... if your rings are no good.... its time for a rebuild and a proper break in on the motor this time..... a lot of people when they get new cars dont realize that the motor has to be broken in first, even on a brand new car... i see cars with dealer plates blow by me when i'm going 95 on the highway.... the new rings are more resistant to not breaking in properly, specially the moly rings, but! you should still break them in right
