If I remember correctly, a 97 Vortec 350 is not a throttle body. It has a unique manifold that has injector tubes to each port. The 96, 97, 98, 99, and some 2000 Vortec 350 engines all use this same setup. The 96 and 97 computers did not have pass key.

A throttle body injection uses a more conventional manifold with a funky "carb" bolt pattern for the throttle body. It runs a completely different fuel pressure than does a 96-99 Vortec unit.

The confusion is that everything is called Vortec......three different injection systems now....the 2000 up injection on the GEN III engines is also called vortec.

Figure out which one you have.....Edelbrock doesnt make a manifold for a 97 Vortec. If you look up an Edelbrock 3704, it says that it is for an 87-95 TBI.
