    Need your help/advice. gearhead ?

I just purchased a '67 283 w/67,000 miles on it out of a Chevelle. I didn't hear it run. It has been out of the car for a number of years. The camshaft that they later put in was a GM 3972178 LT1 solid lifter cam.

Question is? If they only changed the cam and lifters would this motor run well with all its other original parts?

    LT1 had 11 to 1 pistons. 283 had 9.25 to 1

I don't know squat about solid lifter cams!

Richard, WOw that's some technical info. I didn't think this cam was good for this motor. I just want a little lope in it. Going to be running stock pistons,a 3x2 set up, 350 turbo w/ stall if needed and a 350 rear gear.
