Maybe you should check Summit and Jeggs. They usually have 300hp 350 crate engines on sale for $1500 or so. It would save a lot of hassle and leg work for you. Ok, I just checked. $1600 free shipping and a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty. You will need to get a carb and intake etc. You can probably build one cheaper, if you shop around and do your home work. But if you figure your time going and sourcing a buildable core, let a lone heads decent to start with, and all your time cleaning and inspecting, that $1600 isn't a bad deal. Especially if you need machine work done. You could be driving your ride in no time. Just my .02 cents on it.
