    6 Second 4 Banger

Anybody see the History Channel Presentation of Drag Racing last night? If so, did you see the part about the 6 second 4 banger runnin' nitro meth? I thought it was odd that they never showed it actually making a pass at 6 seconds.

Supposedly it puts out around 4000 HP and the guy plans on selling them for less than 100K a pop once he gets all the computer controlled kinks worked out of it......A six second 4 cylinder.....hmm next it'll be a 4 second AAA battery powered dragster.
Sometimes NOW are the "good old days"...

    6 secs. with a 4 banger ! ! That's hard to swallow.

Allyn Armstong of Nova Scotia set a Canadian record of 9.28@140.34 mph with his 72 Opel 4 banger.

I'm impressed by that car, but I'm also a little more impressed by the Street Class 4 banger running mid 8s.

Got that right, Smoke.!!!! Anybody can race, how fast can you afford to go?????? Getting to be fewer and fewer avenues for the average Joe to persue the sport. Street is Neat!!!! Not that I condone street racing, but I guess I can't honestly say that I haven't enjoyed a bit of the "two lane blacktop" stuff myself!!!!

The 4 bangers are getting really quick especially if you consider their size. If you did the same tricks to a modern V8 of any significant displacement the vehicle would be totally uncontrollable-too much HP.

And for the guys who say that these "stupid kids" are just wasting money on 4 banger cars. Be thankful that they are not "wasting money" on a true classic car and screwing it up beyond the point of ressurection.

Let the kids learn on newer 4 cyl cars that aren't worth anything. Then, when they have made all their mistakes gotten some experience in the process let them have at a real classic car.
