    Dyno time

I was finally able to get the car on a chassis dyno. We ended up making 10 pulls and I wasn't too impressed with the numbers I ended up with. 449.93 rwhp and 592.83 ftlbs of torque @7500 rpm. A far cry from what I had expected. It has something going on from about 5500 to 6200 where it feels like I'm pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. After it gets past that point, it runs right up to 7500. We took out some timing and it got a little better, but the lag is still there. They guy did a MPH comparison and I was doing 151 mph on this pull. Here's a link to the video clip. You must right click on the link, and choose "save target as" in order to download it and watch it.

My wife made me turn the sound down after I played the video through five times in a row at full volume Looks like you're about ready to make some real passes. Keep the updates coming.

Hahahahaha, you guys kill me. Enjoy, I have 9 more. You should hear it on the surround sound system I have on my computer. Hopefully it won't rain Wednesday and I'll be able to post one or more of the runs I make.

I figured out the problem!!!! Turns out that the answer was right in front of my eyes, if I had taken the time to read all the specs of the internals of this motor. It seems as though the lag I was getting was exactly at the same rpm range that the cam, and heads are profiled for. The motor was originally tuned, and set up to run it's best with nitrous. So it was doing exactly what it was supposed to do without using the juice. I now have 4 full bottles, and as long as I don't empty them tomorrow during the license runs, I'll get back on the dyno next weekend.

Well, Happy Birthday!!! But, it's kinda hard to know it's your birthday unless you've listed it in your profile

    Good luck on your runs.
