It just might be the start of Drag Racing getting back to it's grass roots where deep pockets and truck loads of money doesn't automatically make you the winner. I have read here at different times about the scene over there and how it was good to race what you drove up to the gates in so maybe big bussiness needs to rethink their whole investment. Down here I believe the two or three biggest drag racing events are the Club Champs on the Saturday followed by the Nostalgia Drags on the Sunday, and the Fathers Day Drags in September. At each meeting you race your Hot Rod with the Fathers Day drags having stricter rules about open cars like T Buckets .
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

I would love to see the drags go back to being controlled by the little guys! In my twenties (the '70s) the plan was to be a drag racer! I had lots of skills and motivation, but by then it was becoming evident that a single guy... or even a few combining their talents... could not afford to successfully compete in pro classes. When I realized that racing was becoming a hole you throw money in... with little chance of success... I switched to my painting. No regrets though. It's been a great adventure. :-)

If old-style racing comes back, I'll be there to support them!
