Sacramento Raceway has the same policy, I'm sure it is insurance mandated, even on the Wednesday night "run what you brung". If they feel your ride won't dip too deep into the 12's, they have made a few exceptions. The night I ran I heard that their scales were down, so decided to give it a try. When asked what my car weighed, I said with a straight face 2450 lbs (660 lbs more). And with the same straight face when asked about my hp, I said 290 hp crate sbc. The tech did some number crunching and predicted I would run a mid 12 and said normally they wouldn't allow me to run, but since I was an older guy (thanks for that) would allow me to make a run solo, with no car in the other lane. I avoided the water box and staged, didn't dump the clutch or speed shift and got my time slip for 10.8 @ 132, plus got a copy of NHRA rules and requirements for 9.99 ~ 10.99 cars. Was told I couldn't run again till I could pass tech inspection for that class. So, G-Tech is all I have now.
