    Nhra

NHRA at Charlotte, replay is on now.

TV Tommy Ivo did the intro prior to the first Top Fuel run, then stood between the lanes to watch the first pass..... Quite obvious he's still diggin' on Top Fuel cars!!!!!! Good seeing him again!!!!!

Tommy Ivo was always sort of an idol of mine.

He was not one to show up at the races with a car that resembled anybody else's.

Also, he favored the best looking engines ever made.

That would be the "nail head" (or nail valve if you prefer) Buicks, of course.

Tommy really was a showman, That was when NHRA was fun with racers using a wide variety of engines,

I'd read that Ivo wasn't in the best of health and they were worried he might have trouble getting to the event. Looks like breathing nitro fumes again perked him right up!

He might not be as healthy as he'd like to be (hmmm, who of us is?) but yup, them nitro fumes sure did seem to perk him right up!!!!! He's been a lot of places and done a lot of things since the Mousketeer days, huh???

Good track conditions, good weather!!!! A tuner's dream!

Not just the top fuel cars, everybody was mile per hourin' like a big dog!!! Went through some of the class results, lots of new top end records and a few ET records, too!
