I loved models as a kid, and got pretty involved. About 12 years ago, a friend and his son showed me some they were building. I decided to build one more.
About 8 years later, I decided I was spending too much time on this effort ...putting on an annual contest in Phoenix ...writing coverage for a magazine ...scratchbuilding prototypes for a small resin casting company ...and trying to raise the bar every time I built. I had just won a two year long national contest, and I decided I could never do better, so I quit. (...for now).
It is not easy to realize you are obsessive-compulsive later in life! :-)
On another note, I have a 2010 Camaro that will be coming in for paint graphics. (a full-sized one) We are talking about things that will ressemble the graphics or trim of a 1969 model, such as factory inspired Z-28, SS, or RS graphics, and such. I certainly hope your "Yenko" will be done with some traditional stripes. It seems a natural! :-)
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
