    NHRA Pro Stock

Man, gotta feel bad for Greg Anderson, ran 6.5222 and got beat--by Mike Edwards, 6.5229 but the hole shot got Mike the win....019 to a .027---

BTW, that was the quickest ever side by side pass in Pro Stock--and probably locked up Edwards for the Pro Stock championship this year unless he really screws up and goes out first round the rest of the events...

Edwards set a new ET record today and Anderson set a new MPH record, also.... Good air at Richmond, huh??????

The air was great and the lanes appeared to be pretty even.

You bet, a whole lot different than at The Motorplex a couple of weeks ago. I hate one lane drag strips.

I know I'm getting "long in the tooth", but as I recall Garlits held the Top Fuel record at 6.50 for about 2 1/2 years...and now Pro Stocks are running 6.50's!!

WOW, VA has always been a quick track, sorry I missed that one.

Yup, it was a killer track and super air!!!! Doubt we'll see runs like that again this season....at least not side by side in the .52's!!!! Heck, the funny's were over 300.... whos was that clown a few months back when Top Fuel went to 1,000 ft said the 300mph runs were over????? Del Worsham had one pass, was 264 at the eighth!!!!!

    For Geezer2

If you are talking NHRA National records---back then they could only be set at a Divisional race or the final 2 rounds at Indy Nats. Garlits lowered the record with an offset front end with his rear engine dragster to 6.20? something---record was thrown out later because NHRA had set 2 inches as max differance in wb side to side and Dons was 7 or 8---so they established a minumun???? Up to that point in time, My car held the National record set at Fremont Ca in 1971. Later that year, we ran the then quickest side by side race, defeating Don Prudrome in a 6.41 to 6.41 run on a blower belt eating slight holeshot, which has been wrongly remembered as the final run at the PDA race at OCIR, but it was the semis and we had to run Schulz and Glenn in the final where the remains of the wire from the belt caused the motor to launch the blower, also setting an altitude record!!!

    Hey Dave,

Do you have a really big picture of that PS Mustang that you could post? I'd really like a better look.

I really like seeing Mike Edwards tearing them up. As far as I know he is not mega sponsored nor has a deep pockets car owner. Plus I like that he is promoting something for kids. Go get 'em Mike!

    Pat
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
