    Cool modified production ? class?

hello to everyone. hope that someone can school me on this ?, I'm in the middle of building a dodge dart for 1\4 and it's getting a 472 cad motor. the car will be tubed and all the other standard things that you have to do,including 9' narrowed ford rear etc. what i need to find out is what class would this put me in? I know there isn't all the info here, just need a general idea. thanks to all that may be able to help. HAVE A GOOD DAY. dave

Its hard to determine a class without a fairly detailed parts list, or a specific E.T. goal you think it will run when finished.

you nprobably won't have required equipment for any class--you may be able to run at test and tune days but if you don't have all the updated safty stuff, good luck

Nothing against your car, but most of the class racing cars are pro built high dollar units.... Takes a bunch of money and a ton of talent to do any class racing in either NHRA or IHRA anymore. It does sound like you have the makings for a first class bracket car!!! If you're intent on being a class racer, better get an NHRA rule book, then spend the extra $$$ to get all the SFI specs, etc..... To be a competitive class racer, you have to know the rule book inside and out, plus a thorough understanding of the grey areas and build every piece of the car to fit the class.....
