    Ready to Race?

After two months of having her brains strewn all around my garage, got the old girl to fire up today!

Replaced all the wiring and main fuse block (Painless is not so painless, but could have been worse), rewired and added fuse block for console switches, added relay for fuel pump, added second line lock solenoid, finally got my leaky gas tank welded up and added a vent hopefully to prevent it cracking again. Installed 5-pt harness...

Took her in to the local shop for all new wheel studs on the front... the old ones were too short and all chewed up.

Only thing left is head protector/head rest pad to weld into the cage... hopefully I can get that done this week. Then there's a bunch on my list I consider cosmetic so can wait a while longer.

First Tech and Test is next Saturday... I guess we can call that cutting it close.

What offseason projects did you have for your race cars and did you get them all done?

    -Chris

Freshened one engine, rebuilt one changed some valve train things...new slicks. Still have to install one engine, adjust valves, and maybe a days worth of the ususal odds and ends..... Test and tune on the 19th so plenty of time yet

The car is ready but the owner bought a new rig/trailer and its now completely done--he sold the old unit so we need to use the new one---doesn't want to use mine---the issues for the new one are mounting the spare slicks and where to put the pro-jacks---you know, everyplace ready for military inspection is more important than racing!!!!

Well, Jerry, you got to keep everything in it's place and organized. My operation isn't quite to the scale with the old lady hauling slicks, air tank, and a plastic tote full of tools in the back of the old SUV and the car making its own way to the track.... gotta get me a trailer

Oh, forgot to mention, also installed new tq converter 9" flashes to 4200... hoping that will shave a tenth off my 60'... can't wait to try it out! And replaced lower rear shock-mounts/floater baseplates with thicker steel, the old ones had cracks everywhere and my last race I spent the day running with one rear shock... I was surprised the car wasn't all over the track... actually handled about the same as ever.
