    Hight wins it!!!

What a comeback!!! Robert Hight won Funny car at Vegas. Even spun the tires in the last round and still managed to beat Ron Capps who also spun. Maybe it was a bit of divine intervention with Eric Medlin meddlin'???? Who cares? Just good to see Team Force bounce back with a win after such a tragedy. Also, Eric's buddy Brandon Bernstein won Top Fuel!!!!! All things are again right in the world of drag racing..... RIP, Eric

i went to vegas also, at first i was being told team force wasnt even gonna be there, but when i arrived i just missed ashley force win her first round. i went down to the force pits which are right next to each other and man support for john and his team was in full "force" john himself seemed a little distant but he still signed autographed and took pics. Ashely and the rest of team Force also made there way out to the pits to sign some autograph and pics. this was my first sactioned NHRA race ive attended (not my last either)and after what team force has been through i am TRUELY a big fan now... R.I.P. E.M.
and a BIG thank you to Ashley Force for taking time from a crazy schedule to hang out for a few minutes..

Umm dont know about that? Does any one know how much experience she has as a racer on a professional level? IMO these cars are WILD animals and should be driven by "seasoned" drivers ONLY! These cars are no joke and very dangerous especially when "pushing the envelope" on every run. To rush the one of the youngest females into the sport just for your little niche is asking for trouble, IMO I think thats says it all for the man. I have all faith in the girl but I think she was pushed into the driver seat way to early. I think if I was in the same position I would not put my kid in the drivers seat until they had many more years experience. A lot of things happen real fast and only experience can get you out of the bad situations. Lack of experience will only make a bad situation worse. At this time when I think of her going down the track I just want to close my eyes at hope for the best as the car goes 320-330 mph down the track.

ashley qualified #3 320mph 4.82 sec (faster than her own father john force 4.852sec) in the semi elimination round @ Vegas, that should tell ya she's more than ready, IMO she is expierienced enough to be very competitive possibly in the next year or 2 will become funny car champ herself. i dont think even the season pros show as much control as she has, besides shes got the greatest coach anyone could ever have! a 14 time funny car champ as her DAD. if anyone knows ashley better its her own father. in the end we all worry and hope ashley (and all the NHRA drivers) stays safe..........

We got auto`s from john, but i guess at the time we were in the pits she was buzy, i saw alot of people with auto`s from her, bad timing i guess.

I agree dave i think she is gonna be a great driver, i think she has her daddy`s fire in her, and is gonna make her own name. I think once she gets through this first season and gets more confidence she is gonna kick some serious butt.

I agree some what, but have you seen her drive, she manhandels that car, when i saw her run at gainsville on her qualifying run she lost traction at about halve track began swerving back and forth badly, but got control hit the gas and continued her run, that told everybody how in control she is. The thing i never understood is why she did not run dragster, that is what she was used to, if your gonna go pro why not stay in the same kind of car?

IMO Jumping in a fuel dragster would help the TEAM FORCE! That would probably be going against the grain. Ya in a situation like that you hit the throttle to straighten you back up and GO!

Ok, this IS NOT a personal attack on anyone, just an observation from an over the hill ex racer with experience in a few go fast machines.......

Maybe that's the cure when sideways with a few hundred horse, but not with mega thousands of horses!!!! I can't claim to be an expert on going fast, never been faster then a low 6 in a top alcohol car many, many moons ago. I have gone fast enough to let ya know that things happen a whole lot faster then they do in your basic 11 second bracket car.... It all looks so easy watching from the stands, and even easier watching it on a single dimension boob tube. One of my lasting recollections from my go fast days is how idiotic it sounds when somebody who's never gone faster then a mid 12 in the quarter comes up and tells you all about your driving mistakes!!!!!!

One of my past car owners from the sprint car days still has a very appropriate sign in his race shop; "When you're up to your butt in alligators, it's hard to remember you came here to drain the swamp."

I can't even imagine what it must be like to go a quarter in the high 4's low 5's!!!!!!! I do know that is one heck of a lot more difficult then I could ever imagine!!!! You actually have to anticipate what is going to happen and react before it happens. Watching it in slow motion after about the 3rd replay it sure is easy to kick back in the arm chair and do the "would of, could of, should of routine....

I have all the respect in the world for ANYONE who can go in the 5's and faster. They have skills and abilities that are light years ahead of the rest of us......

we all got a bit off topid over ashley, but thats cool, @dave what u say makes alot of sense, since i never drag raced or ran the 1/4 mile in 4.82sec, the point here is Ashley is FAST, In a perfect world No man wants to hear a Girl/women is faster than them but face it shes got it and time will be on her side if she sticks with it, as John said himself on Driving Force she'll one day take over where John left off. back on topic, Congrads to Hight and the whole Force team for getting the win at Vegas, we all know this is what they needed after what the teams been through.
