currents running 4.88's, to much as a th-350 backs my big block....guys who built my bottom end and know alot more than I do said I should go with 3.73... they also confirmed my believe and said I would probally not even finish the 1/4 mile with my set up. my engine maxes out at 6000 rpm. I was thinkin 4.10's. What i want is a street/strip car.... I want something that will finish the 1/4 mile but be quick from light to light...any ideas? what other info do you guys need...

Why don't you make a few passes at the strip with the gears you have in it now and see if you run out of motor before the lights. If so, make a note of where you max out (in feet) before the lights and also what your mph is through the lights on your timing slip.
If you do run out of motor, its easier to change to a larger diameter tire than to change gears.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
