I went to Test and Tune a few weeks ago, sorry for the delay

I only got to make a couple of runs. I noticed some smoke in the car on the top end of the track. Got back to the pits and looked under the car. Transmission fluid all over the cross member and the front drive shaft loop. Looks like it may be leaking from the trans brake Solenoid. I turned it by hand so it may just be loose. They didn't take care of the track reall well and on my first run it only went 1.603 60 foot with a 6.977 in the 1/8 at 99.354 mph and 10.951 at 121.554 mph in the quarter. I was a little disappointed but I knew it would be slower than the 427 when I crossed the line at only 6300 rpms. On the second run I bumped the timing to 36° total timing and I assumed that it would pick the car up some but it didn't help much. Someone had oiled down the track so they had to actually take care of it and my 60' improved to 1.538 on the second run (still not up to par) with a 6.879 at 99.854mph 1/8 mile time and a 10.841 at 121.649mph in the quarter. Again I was disappointed (the air wasn't that greay either) .......... I was expecting 6.60's and 10.50's or quicker at 125mph or faster. I then tried one more run, I jetted down in the front from 90's to 88's and it slowed the car down to 98.727mph and 120.350mph so I need to go back the other direction. I didn't make any more runs. I didn't want to take a chance on an accident and I didn't want to oil down the track. It was however a learning experience and now I know which direction I need to go AND I need to fix the oil leak in the tranny. IMO the 466 DOVE-A headed engine made some decent power but it just runs out of steam on top. My 427 stroker pulled HARD all the way up to 6700 and it was still pulling HARD!

My buddies car did even worse. We go it to the staging lanes and the ignition died AGAIN. Stupid MSD!! We just put a new pickup in the billet dizzy and either it died AGAIN or the 6AL box died.

I'm going to try and take the 1990 coupe this coming Friday and see how it does. Hopefully it won't break an axle.
