    Question 32 Body & Chassis???

I am getting my psyche and pocketbook ready to build a 32 3 window high boy. I am in the body/chassis selection phase. I am located close to Nashville, TN and want to be able to commute and take a look first hand and what I am buying.

Right now I have BeBops and American street rods on my list since they are located in east Tennessee. Any other suggestions???

I keep wavering from buying everthing I can from one place to buying a bracketed frame and buying the necessary parts to finish. Any thoughts???

Budget is a concern as always. Any thoughts????????

I start with a set of American Stamping rails, put them in the jig and go from there. Like Richard I much prefer fabbing my own stuff and the flexiblity on design and components used that it offers. The "one size fits all" stuff usually results in too much comprimise on fitment and component selection. Just my 2 cents worth.

If you go to Knoxville to look at the American Street Rod Design bod you need to check out Rat's Glass to. They are about 15 minutes apart. http://ratsglassbodies.com/

I'd also stop by Bobby Alloway's shop and talk chassis with him. He is known for his high end turn key cars but he also builds chassis to order. You can get driving instructions at Rat's Glass.

Have your body built on your chassis if at all possible. The fit is better.

I made the move! I ordered a BeBop coupe body and chassis at the Shades of the Past rod run in Pigeon Forge. It will be about 15 weeks before I will be able to pick it up. After I start assembly I will let readers know how it all works out.
