Brakes are here. $145 in shipping. Gotta love Hawaii. But they are the prettiest brakes I've ever bought.

OK, so what wheels/tires should I buy for this thing? Has to be something 'different' and visually striking.

Now there is a loaded question!
Tires and wheels are one "of those" questions/choices that'll get you every time. I still like Cragar S/S... always a winner in my eyes!

If you want the sarcastic reply...??..?? Go with red steelies and wide whites!

I was going to like the cragars comment, until the red wheels came up..

No need to make it look like the circus is in town..

IMO saying that red wheels are wrong/bad/ugly is just plain nuts. Everything is in the combination - body color, interior color, trim color, etc, etc, and harsh contrasts can be just right, when done right, and johnboy's Yellow Rose '47 looks "crash hot" with the red wheels. Circus wagon? Bite your tongue!!

Chopsmitty, I have faith that with everything else you're doin' in this build, the wheels and tires will be spot on and look righteous! Do you have a style or type in mind that pleases your eye?

Momma always said, "Beauty's in the eye of the beholder", and even more appropriate here, "Roger, if you can't say something nice then it's better to say nothing at all."

It's a very nice color choice!

Okay.. now that I've been put in my place..

I was only trrying to say that the red/wide white has been done to death and I have to cringe when I see a car out for the first drive and it has that same combo and the owner tells me how he wanted it to be "fresh and different", it's just been so overdone and it needed to be said "IMHO"!

Yes, alot of this was sarcasm, but if you like the combo? Great for you! You only need to please yourself after all, right??? And I don't believe Cragar SS wheels make any car look like a circus wagon! But again, just MY opinion!

I'm a drag racer at heart, so I was thinking of building it with an old school/high tech drag theme... So right now, I'm thinking of Weld Racing V-Series 17x4.5" fully polished on the front and 15x10 on the back with some drag radials. Big and littles!

I'll offer you one comment. Be 100% sure of the tire you plan to run on the rear before you invest in 15's. What was common a few years back has become rare as hens teeth today, and the specialty tires from Coker have become of questionable quality. Bigs & littles refers to the diameters, not just width, and the "tradition" is to look for six to eight inches of rubber rake if you're going for the big & little stance. Based on your comment about the car that Randy posted and the wheel sizes you posted, I believe that your definition must differ.
