pinching front frame 32 3 window coupe

will be cutting front frame horns off and pinching frame so front frame runs parallel to hood sides. I don't like the look of anything being in front of the grille shell at front of car. has boxed frame, regular dropped front axle, leaf spring with hairpins. Want to use all of the existing front suspension and steering components. Can I use the existing front crossmember and just cut it off on each side and move frame into it or do I need to construct a new crossmember for this to work? Anyone have any experience and helpful hints???? With small block chevy figure I won't have room for mechanical fuel pump anymore, shorten steering rod to right front wheel and vega steering box mounts changed a little but is there anything else that needs changed other than pie cutting frame at firewall to bend it in and shortening the front crossmember.

Here's a link I had saved showing the pinch process that these guys went through. Go to the 12.22.2009 section and there are several pictures that should help with the steps they took - 1932 Ford Frame Chassis Hot Rod Flathead Traditional florida

thanks, great photos there. exactly what I hoped would work. the only difference I will make is still have the spring on top of the axle so I don't have to change out any parts but with a 6 inch drop axle the front of car will still be plenty low.

Thought it was a good fit for what you were planning. Glad it helped visualize the process!!
