Pat, did you cut & re-weld the horizontal tubes atop the engine stands to level them, taking out the nominal 5 degree up tilt that they have from the factory?Roger

No, I didn't touch the engine mounts that New Age welded in for me. I brought my engine and trans to them to set up the mounts. I does appear to have a slight tilt up when it was in there, but not sure how much. It looks like the same amount from when I had this setup in my 66 Fairlane.
Ryan, Dave, Lynn, and 34_40, thank you!!! I should have some more pictures after today. I should have the trans painted, engine touched up, and all bolted together. I'm going to install a set of 3.50 gears and paint the differential too. I have 4.33's in there now from when I had my heavy Fairlane. If I don't have it done today, it will be tomorrow. Next week I'm going to start sanding the body for primer and paint. The weather here in Maryland has been so nice for painting. It hasn't been too hot and the humidity has been on the low side. Great timing! This time last year was always near a 100* and humid. My garage was like an oven! Have a great weekend everyone!New Age Motorsports 32 5/W 521/C6

My question was aimed at the two engine stands you used for the rotisserie holding the frame. I used two stands on my '33, unmodified, and when rotated it got kind of funky, lifting wheels etc, because the top tubes on the standard engine stand are not level. Just wondering if you reworked yours, which I plan to do if I put the new one up to repaint one of these days....Roger

Oh the stands on the rotisserie, sorry about that. I thought you meant the engine mounts. I borrowed the rotisserie from my cousin Dan, who made it up. He built his 32 with it. I'm thinking he has it leveled off, because the frame turns so easy and there's no lifting of the casters or anything like that.New Age Motorsports 32 5/W 521/C6

Looking at it again outside, it's not even two old engine stands. He made this out of old metal stock he had in his garage. Everything is straight up and level. My cousin John, Dan's brother, used it for his 32 3 window coupe as well. It's been around the block! LOLNew Age Motorsports 32 5/W 521/C6

if you use engine stands you have to level them first. they all tilt to the rear a few degrees.

built mine for cleaning and blasting . little on the heavy duty side but i didn't want flex or fatigue . makes building a dash much easier .

Great update, Mike! I adhere to Clint Eastwood's philosophy on aging, "Don't let the old man in!" Once in he's hard to evict. Thanks for keeping us involved with your projects!
